California Sunrise CBD Hemp Flower Strain Review

California Sunrise is yet another new CBD Flower strain that really packs a punch – only available from select growers.

Overall score – 9 out of 10

Stop for a moment and really think about a “California sunrise”. What do you picture? Me personally, I imagine rows of bright colors – pinks, oranges, yellows, reds, and purples – all blending into each other across a wide open sky. If I could put a flavor to it, it would definitely be fruity, tropical, and bold. That’s basically what you get with the hemp strain, California Sunrise.

Strain Information

California Sunrise, actually does not come from the Golden State, despite its name. It’s actually grown in Colorado. These nugs are medium to large sized, completely seedless, and hand-trimmed to perfection. Once trimmed, they are terplock sealed for flavor preservation.

That said, once I opened the bag, I immediately noticed the nugs were quite dry. For me that’s not a big issue and if you want a helpful tip, putting your flower in an airtight jar with a tortilla strip with soften those buds right up without changing the flavor at all.

As usual, I tried it both of my preferred ways of testing flower – 1 joint and 1 bowl. Since it was dry, it burnt up quickly in the bowl, although after 1 hour in the jar with a tortilla it was burning perfectly. In a joint it smoked nicely either way.

The effects were uplifting and had me highly focused and connected with whatever task was at hand. It’s a great strain for easing anxiety without any of the heavy feelings. Sometimes, a clear-headed effect like this one is much needed.
