If you were under the impression that you couldn’t order “THC flower” online, from any state… well, you’re in for a pleasant surprise.
With the introduction of Delta-8 Tetrahydrocannabinol to the hemp market, consumers can now legally buy THC products online, and that includes flowers. Now, when I say “THC flowers” I’m not talking about marijuana, which is high in Delta-9 THC and still federally illegal. I’m actually talking about a new product called Hot Hemp – Hemp flowers infused with Delta 8 THC distillate.

About the Flowers – Hot Hemp Strain Review
Hot Hemp is legally grown and sourced CBD Hemp Flower, infused with Delta-8 THC extracted from industrial hemp plants. It’s a legal product that is also psychoactive, similar to marijuana but considerably milder.
You can find numerous different strains of Hot Hemp but the one I personally tried was Siskiyou Gold. This is a very popular strain of CBD flowers and one of the early ones that was available on the market. Named after the mountain range in Southern Oregon and Northern California from where it originated, Siskiyou Gold has all the traits of that charming region.
On the outside, the buds were a golden green tone with a lot of orange hairs, but once I broke it down, I found some purple tones near the stems. The flavor is very earthy with hints of berry. Full disclosure, one issue I have with CBD Flowers – compared to marijuana – is that many strains of CBD Flowers have the same general flavor. Not all, but many strains. That said, this was not an issue with this strain, it was very flavorful and had its own unique taste.
These flowers are all lab tested and the strain I tried, Siskiyou gold, had 19.23% CBD and 16.1% Delta-8 THC. It’s a hybrid strain that’s roughly 60% sativa and 40% indica. Hot Hemp buds are legally compliant with less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.
How it Felt
The effects were relaxing but mild. Like a lighter version of what I buy from a dispensary. Even if you’re used to high-THC marijuana like I am, the Hot Hemp still has noticeable effects. Overall, it was a chill, creative, but not particularly “stoned” feeling.
Delta-8 THC is a wonderful alternative for anyone who enjoys Delta-9 but may get anxiety or other unwanted effects from it. Delta-8 is also perfect if you want to get a little bit stoned but have some type of obligation that would make you not be able to use products high in Delta-9.
What is Delta-8 THC?
While reading about the product you may have been wondering, what exactly is Delta-8? And how is it different from Delta-9? Well, it’s actually not that different, but at the same time, it is. From a chemical standpoint, there are only minor difference between Delta-9 molecules and Delta-8 molecules. Their formulas are very similar, but as is common in the world of chemistry, one minor change can make an entirely different compound.
Delta-8 is only present in trace amounts in cannabis plants, so to utilize it, this compound needs to be extracted from hemp and isolated. This is important to remember, as only Hemp-derived Delta 8 is legal. Delta-8 THC extracted from marijuana plants is illegal, as is any compound coming from marijuana.
As far as medical benefits of Delta 8 THC, there are many of particular interest. Numerous studies dating back to the early 1970s indicate that Delta-8 has extremely powerful effects on the immune system. It has also been observed shrinking tumors and completely eliminating nausea in patients who were sick from other medications. Much of the research was conducted by Prof. Raphael Mechoulam and his team.

Final Thoughts
This is a incredibly interesting and innovative product, because it’s basically as close as you can get to marijuana without it actually being marijuana, which doesn’t matter much for some consumers but it makes a world of difference legally.
If you live in a prohibition state and find it difficult and expensive to buy marijuana, Hot Hemp is a wonderful alternative that won’t break the bank. It’s also a great option for anyone who enjoys marijuana but get’s anxiety from strains that are high in Delta-9 THC, as Delta 8 is known to be “easy on the mind”, which makes it a great alternative to Delta 9!
Regardless of your reason for using it, the bottom line is that it’s a great product that is certainly worth trying. Have you smoke Hot Hemp before? If so, what did you think about it? Drop us a line in the comment section below and tell us about your experience.
